Code Zero deployed a custom configurator on top of Salesforce CPQ to control all the calculations required for processing quotes. Once a user completes the calculations, they proceed to Salesforce CPQ and work within standard CPQ processes.

Code Zero implemented CPQ, Advanced Approvals, Custom tables, and Transactional Data. This was a global and multi-currency implementation.
An “Org Migration” user with System Administrator access will be used by the Service Provider team to perform the data migration. This way, the records will show they were created by “Org Migration” (vs. a named user on the Service Provider team). For most objects, the Created by User and Created Timestamp will be overridden with the Migration user and Migration timestamp. For up to 5 objects (Account, Contact, Opportunity…) the “Create Audit Fields” override will be used so original created by information can be preserved.

Code Zero replaced Apttus and leveraged out-of-the-box best practice capability within Salesforce – to deploy Salesforce CPQ. We installed Salesforce CPQ, configured Bundles, and created Product Rules to allow easy-to-use quoting for sales and ensure maintainability for IT admins. We also deployed Advanced Approvals and built automation for out-of-office flows and SLA notification event.

Code Zero removed “Add Products” functionality on Opportunities in order to shift users to utilize the Salesforce CPQ Quote object and enable Salesforce CPQ to become the System of Record (SOR) for all Products and Pricing. We identified and configured all applicable Bundles, Offerings, and Packages.
Our work included identifying and detailing all special pricing use cases: Partner pricing, volume discounts, custom priced products, etc. We loaded and configured all pricing and pricing rules in Salesforce CPQ and added additional fields to the Opportunity and Quote objects required by the NAV for closed Opportunities. The team created validation rules and roadblocks to require milestones be hit to Close Won Opportunities, configured a small number of Document Templates using dynamic sections and content to provide coverage for all currently used templates, and built roadblocks into the Quote object to prevent Contracts from being sent before Quote approval.

We built an external customer community, mapped data components that would be required for CPQ to properly integrate to external ERP sites, and provided an end-to-end Selector-to-CPQ experience for end users in a Proof of Concept format.

One of the largest most well-known American multinational software companies is known for creating solutions that help their customers automated business processes and drive efficiency so when it was time to internally practicing what they preached they came to Code Zero to help implement CPQ to relieve the internal efficiency and productivity issues.
Code Zero reduced the timeline to quote from hours (and sometimes days), to minutes. Our work reduced the percentage of quotes requiring approvals from 60% to less than 20%, and eliminated the creation of quotes with invalid product configurations. We removed manual lookups and complexity from quoting add-ons by leveraging contract and subscription management in Salesforce CPQ, thus enabling “one-click” amendments.
The sales team adopted Salesforce CPQ incredibly quickly and they provided very positive feedback on how easy it was to quote. Based on the feedback, CA is moving quickly to migrate additional business units onto Salesforce CPQ.

Cost Support Solution
Code Zero built out the Product object in Salesforce and built integration to SAP to receive the product master. We designed and built a set of custom objects to allow this American Fortune 500 industrial supply company to define rules that would be used to identify quotes requiring Cost Support and also rules to define what action to take for those quotes.
For quotes that require Cost Support collaboration with the supplier, the solution creates a request in the Lightning Community and also notifies the supplier via email that a new request has been created.
We also built a the Lightning Community that serves as the platform for suppliers to review Cost Support requests and respond to them. Suppliers also have the ability to view existing Cost Support Agreements. Once the supplier finalizes their response to the Cost Support Request, integration to the company’s vendor contract repository (SAP Vistex) is used to create/update the agreement.
